Texture Fisher is a Maya Python script that identifies and fixes broken texture paths in your scenes. It scans file nodes, detects missing files, searches for matches in your project directory (up to 5 levels deep), and applies fixes via an intuitive GUI. Best used if texture files are in the same folder as the scene file (or its subfolders), but supports manually specifying the directory.

Key Features:

  • Auto-scans current scene for file textures
  • Lists textures with missing paths in red
  • "Fix Missing" button for batch repairs
  • Custom search path browsing (defaults to scene directory)
  • Refresh button and auto-refresh on scene open/new

now supports all versions of maya*.

Installation:

1. unzip and copy texture_fisher folder into your ~documents/maya/<version>/scripts directory for windows users. for macOS users ~/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/<version>/scripts
2. drag and drop install_texture_fisher.mel into your maya viewport
